About me
Beth Wiemann was raised in Burlington, VT, studied composition and clarinet at Oberlin College with Richard Hoffman and Lawrence McDonald, and received her PhD in composition from Princeton University. She teaches clarinet, composition and theory at the University of Maine, and performs with its faculty chamber group, Cadenzato. Wiemann's compositions appear currently on the Parma, Raviello, Albany, Capstone, innova and Americus record labels, and her music is available from American Composers Alliance in New York. She has also recorded clarinet works by David Rakowski, her husband, on Albany Records’ release “Martian Counterpoint.”
