About me
Brandon Duras is the Director of Instrumental Music in Brunswick, Maine, where he conducts two jazz bands, Symphonic Band, Honors Wind Ensemble, and teaches piano and music theory. A graduate of the University of New Hampshire (B.M.E. 2017, M.A. 2019), he has earned national and international recognition, including honors in the Warsaw Wind Ensemble and Frederick Fennell Conducting Competitions. He placed third in the 2021–22 American Prize for Wind Band Conducting and received a Finalist Honorable Mention in 2024. Named MMEA’s Outstanding New Music Educator (2022) and a Yamaha “40 Under 40” (2023), Duras is also a Yamaha Educator Suite contributor and presenter at local and international music conferences.
