2025 Maine Music Educators Association Conference

Today's General Music classes provide a wealth of opportunity for students from all backgrounds to participate as consumers, active listeners, and exploratory music learners. "Disconnected" students often manifest with a variety of learning styles that are frequently found among the music class population. Through creative units, engaging activities, and modified assessments, this session seeks to access the "teacher's toolkit" for ways to elicit greater participation from the disconnected/disinterested student.
